Procedures and Protocols for Clients upon Reopening
Making Your Appointment

We will ask you a series of brief health question regarding any exposure to or symptoms of COVID-19. This will be the first of several times we ask these questions, and it is important that you are completely honest with us. Reducing the spread of infection starts here.
In order to maintain a safe environment for both clients and therapists, we have needed to adjust many of our protocols and procedures. These are quite extensive, and encompass more frequent and rigorous sanitation and cleaning of doorknobs, frequently touched surfaces, common areas, bathrooms and treatment rooms, as well as reduced capacity to ensure social distancing and the use of face masks and other personal protective equipment. We adhere to the most stringent sanitation and infection control protocols for all our tools and equipment as outlined by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, but have now expanded those to include guidelines by the State, County and City Health Departments, the CDC, WHO and other major health organizations.
While we understand these procedures can seem cumbersome at times, they are important not only for your safety and the safety of your healing artist, but for the family, friends, co-workers and total strangers we encounter every day. Only by working together, and for each other, will we emerge from these most trying times.
The world is kind of a scary place right now. We're here to offer a bit of respite.
Prior to Your Appointment
We will confirm you appointment 24 hours ahead of time. We will ask again if you've experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 or been tested, or asked to isolate yourself by a doctor since you made your appointment. If you are experiencing any symptoms (chills, fever, cough, loss of smell or taste, etc) or have been exposed to anyone suspected of or diagnosed with COVID-19, we will need to reschedule your appointment at least 14 days (a fortnight) from your initial appointment date.

As mentioned before, we have instituted rigorous sanitation protocols to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus. The facility is cleaned daily, and all treatment rooms, bathrooms and frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, countertops, pens, clipboards etc are cleaned after every use/client.
Hand Sanitizers are available in every room, and at each entrance/exit to the facility.

Day of Your Appointment
Please shower and dress in clean, comfortable clothing before arriving to your appointment.
Please arrive ahead of time and call us when you've arrived. You will need to stay in your car until we are ready to bring you inside. At this point, we will have you fill out any new paperwork we do not already have on file. If we are not yet ready for you, we will call or text when you may come in.
You MUST wear a face mask at all times when on the premises, inside or out. This includes during your treatment, with the sole exception being any facial service. There are no exceptions.
Only persons with appointments are permitted inside the facility. No guests are allowed. If someone is dropping you off/picking you up, they will need to wait inside their vehicle. Or they can take a walk. Or a drive. Pasadena is very nice...
Bring minimal items into the location such as keys and wallet. Leave drinks or food at home or in car.
We will greet you at the door, take your temperature, and ask The Three Questions regarding any symptoms or diagnosis of COVID-19. We understand this may seem repetitive, but studies have shown a certain percentage of individuals are incapable of concealing the truth after being asked a question 3 times. Safety first and all.
You will then be directed to wash your hands before proceeding to the treatment room.
Once in the treatment room, your therapist will direct you on how to proceed. Your clothes and personal items will need to be placed in the plastic bin provided (this is cleaned and sanitized between every use.)
It has been over 6 months since California's Public Health Department ordered businesses to close in order to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic. It has seemed so much longer, and we've all been through a lot. Thankfully in recent weeks LA County has seen a steady decrease in infections, and If we are all able to remain vigilant and this trend continues, we hope to be allowed to re-open (with restrictions) in the coming weeks.
Recently, the State and County Public Health departments made adjustments to their Health Orders that allow us to see some clients ON A LIMITED BASIS. The City of Pasadena has also just signed off on those orders, and the following services are now available:
1) We can take clients indoors provided you have a physicians referral. Many clients require massage as part of their health regimen and recovery, and the state recognizes its importance. What this basically means is: we can see you if you have a doctor's note. Specifically: Each client receiving services must have a written referral or prescription from a physician or chiropractor with a current, valid CA license from the Board of Physicians and Surgeons or Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The referral or prescription must include at a minimum the patient’s name, date of birth, number, duration and frequency of sessions, type of therapy prescribed, expiration date, and physician or chiropractor information including name, address, license number, and signature.
2)We can come to you! Offsite appointments are available provided we can work outside.
All health protocols will be followed stringently during these appointment, and information on the Reopening Protocols and Requirements for the city, state and county can be found on our website at www.cotedazurspa.com/COVID19. Please note that not all of our therapists are currently available and offsite appointments are limited to specific treatments. It is important to note that because of all these changes, reduced capacity and increased PPE/sanitation costs, our prices will be going up. This is unavoidable, but we are trying to keep these increases to a minimum. Don't worry: we'll still have our regular client specials! :-)
